Animating a figure in Photoshop
We were given the assets to animate this figure. There were two figures, one had the legs togther and one legs apart. An improvement might have been for the figure to have been drawn in more positions.
First I keyframed the opacity on the timeline. So for every frame I switched the opacity from 100% to 0% and from 0% to 100%. This makes the figure look like it is moving the legs and arms.
To move the figure across the frame I keyframed the Transform element of the timeline. I moved the current time indicator and the keyframes are automically set up.
Above is my animation and the figure is running from side to side. I had to edit and flip when the figure reached the right hand side. This looks like it is turned around and come back.
The above is an animated gif of the second animation.
I didn't hold the interpolation on the opacity and that is why it looks like the figure is a little transparent.
I will practice and hold the interpolation on the next example and see if the movement and effect is more realistic.
